Howdy everyone! My name is Polly and I'm an 8 month 35-pound lab mix. I'm a petite girl with a heart of gold and fur to match.
I was hit by a car and broke my hip so Peak Lab saved me. I've had my surgery and I'm healing well, but will have limited mobility in the future. That's why they say I'm special needs.
Right now I have to walk slowly and that's super hard for young pup like me. I will only be able to handle short walks in the future. I won't be a sprinter or a marathon runner. My hip is as good as it's gonna get and I'm not in any pain. It was a bad break.
I'm a fast learner... for example, I go potty outside, I love relaxing in my little den (crate), and I can sit on command. I love playing low energy games like Watch Me, and I know that waiting at the door until my foster mom says I can go out gets me a treat. I'm working on staying calm when I see other dogs and people (I just want to go play with them you know). Learning games and puzzle toys keep me busy.
I love cuddling with my foster mom and she rubs my belly. You can often find me just chewing my bones quietly on the carpet.
I have seen a vet, am up to date on shots and have my microchip. My spay surgery is scheduled for this week and Peak Lab Rescue will cover the cost.
I'm going to make one family very lucky. Do you think that could be with you? I sure hope so cause I have lots of love to give.
