My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Capybara!

Age: 2 years old
Breed: Poodle, Dachshund, Terrier mix (our best guess!)
Weight: Approximately 25lbs

Capybara may be small in size, but he's big on love! With his adorable physique – a small dog with a long body and short legs – he's ready for all sorts of adventures, especially outdoor romps and leisurely walks.

This affectionate boy is a cuddle enthusiast who adores attention from both humans and other furry pals. If you're looking for a charming companion who's always up for a snuggle session or a playdate, Capybara is your guy!

He is nuetured and up-to-date on all vaccinations. The adoption fee is $550.

Think you would be a good fit ? Apply to adopt!

First step is filling out an application on our website www.aboutadogrescuesociety.ca

Part of our adoption process involves a home visit, and while we'd love to facilitate adoptions beyond the lower mainland, our volunteer resources limit us to Vancouver and surrounding municipalities.

More about this rescue

Our rescue was started in October 2018 by Mike Edwards, Lisa McElheran and Dog Behaviorist Monika Herzig. We have worked together previously to rescue and rehome dogs decided to take our passion and create a group of our own.

Our dogs come from various backgrounds, some as simple as owner surrenders, and others coming from situations of neglect and abandonment. We currently work with an amazing rescue group in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and in the future we hope to pull dogs from overcrowded shelter systems in the USA and make connections to help dogs in other areas of Canada.

We are 100% non-profit and rely solely on donations. Every penny raised goes straight to the dogs. We do not have a shelter so we rely on a small group of wonderful volunteers and foster families to care for our dogs, conduct home visits, spread the word, and help us organize events.

We are a ethical, honest and transparent rescue, we would be happy to answer any and all of your questions
