My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ginger is listed as a courtesy posting for a good Samaritan who found her. Here's what they have to say about her:

"Ginger (given name) was found running down the street in Silverlake with no collar. She is not microchipped. Her weight is healthy, but her nails are very long. She’s been posted on several social media platforms and the shelters have been called. Her person hasn’t been found yet. So far, this is what we’ve learned about her.

Ginger is the perfect blend of sweet and spicy. She LOVES to snuggle and works hard to know my every move inside the apartment. She’s shy with strangers and will bark if given too much initial attention, but warms up very quickly. Ginger would make a great walking partner. She quickly learned what the leash is and gets excited to go on walks, but is a little unsure of herself once outside. She generally ignores dogs, but is reactive to eager or energetic dogs. She can be redirected. She does well with dogs when they go on a walk together first, skipping the nose to nose meeting. Ginger generally ignores my dog inside the home. She growls a little when he gets on the couch but responds to redirection. She tries to play with my aloof cat and respects her when swatted away. Ginger likes plush toys and will play a few rounds of fetch (inside only). She comes when called.

Ginger is not food motivated. We are looking for the right food for her as she is refusing dry kibble. She is doing well with potty training and thrives on a schedule. We’ve been working hard to help her to relax in outdoor environments. She has quickly grown accustomed to her crate and now goes in to relax when the door is left open. She also LOVES sunning on the balcony and will quietly observe the neighbors. She barks at other dogs barking but only if they’re rowdy.

Ginger would do best with people with a confident, gentle tone. She needs patience and understanding while she adjusts to new environments. I haven’t observed her around small children. She cowers when she hears loud noises and a house with too much traffic would likely make her uncomfortable.

Anyone who adopts Ginger will have a devoted companion with a perfect blend of activity and lounging 🧡🧡"
