My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Belle and Luna! These adorable girls are the perfect pair for someone looking for sweet and gentle rabbits to add to their home. Belle may be more reserved initially but will warm up quickly, especially with treats! Belle's love for veggies and hay makes her an easy bunny to please, and providing her with a nutritious diet will keep her happy and healthy. Luna is slightly more outgoing and will hop over to greet you when you walk in the room! These girls can be found cuddling, looking for snacks, or napping sprawled out. They both use their litter boxes well and are easy keepers.
Belle and Luna are affectionate rabbits who will bond with their new family and be great pets. They are looking for a place to finally call home where they can let their guards down and find love. If you think you could be the right fit for these two, read below!

More about this shelter

Our Mission:

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its 36 branches located around BC and its provincial office in Vancouver, the BC SPCA provides a wide range of services for more than 53,000 homeless, abused, and abandoned animals around the province. The BC SPCA was created under the auspices of the provincial Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and is the only animal welfare organization in BC which has the authority to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty and to prepare cases for Crown Counsel for the prosecution of individuals who inflict suffering on animals.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
