Toffee is an adorable girl who is looking for a home! Toffee is now in a foster home in NJ.
Toffee was found very pregnant last November and taken in by our partner rescue, Atchafalaya River Rescue. She gave birth to 8 puppies the next day! Louie James is one of her puppies. Toffee finished raising her pups and was fixed and treated for heartworm. After she gave birth she was diagnosed with IMTP, an immune disorder which required treatment with steroids. She has recovered but will need bloodwork in October and annually thereafter to make sure all of her levels are in check.
Toffee is friendly with other dogs and cats and also does well with kids. She is housebroken and crate trained.
Toffee is fixed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. She was recently treated for heartworm and is on light duty until the end of May. Her adoption fee is $450.
Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.
