My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A SWEET FRIEND FOR YOU:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 26 lbs.

Hi there – I’m Elena!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so happy to be loved and cared for by the volunteers here while I wait to meet my new family.  I’ve heard the time has come for me to find them, and I can’t wait for the day I start my new life with a family of my very own! I was adopted for about a week, but unfortunately one of my family members was allergic to me.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and in a home I visited for a week and liked them, so if you have a nice doggie at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / Recently, I met some children at Mostly Mutts and liked them, though I was a bit timid and shy with them.  They were calm and sweet which I really appreciated, so if you have calm children 10 years and older, let’s meet!

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  Though timid, I was brave and calm for my shelter bath.  I am a friendly girl with a wonderful, playful demeanor.  Gentle and loving, I’m looking forward to sharing lots of wonderful times with my new family. / My energy level is 5 – 7, so a little regular exercise and playtimes would be great.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I am learning lots of great doggie commands with my trainer.  I’m a great student and have already mastered the ‘sit’, ‘come’, and ‘leave it’ commands, as well as how to walk nicely on a leash and accept friendly strangers without jumping up on them.  Check back soon to see what else I have learned. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and the home I was in for a week. / I've been having just a few accidents on the shelter schedule but did well in the home I visited for a week.  So, once I know the routine I think I’ll do well on a good schedule.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I like toys and enjoy playing with them and with people alike.  I am sure to be a great companion for you while we discover lots more things we like doing together. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I would not want to be rushed in new situations. Just give me time to warm up to my new environment.  Otherwise, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed.

I’m looking for a loving home with a great family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
