My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Have you had the urge to "catch" puppy fever? Well this little guy will make you want to catch them all- Meet Charmander, DOB 1/5/24, will likely grow to be a medium sized adult, is a gorgeous brown, and guessed to be a terrier mix. He knows some basic commands- sit, down, up, shake, spin. Been known to wear a shirt on a chilly day without fuss, and his best bud currently is his brother- Bulbasaur.

His foster says: Charmander - Not as brave as Bulbasaur, his brother, but still likes an adventure. He is cuddly and doesn't mind being held and in fact would enjoy a nap in owner's lap. Loves car rides and also sometimes runs around with one ear stuck backwards. Super eager to please and not quite as obsessed with food as his brother. Also loves sunshine and playtime. Charmander has done well with other dogs and cats- doesn't live with young children but is young and can be introduced and taught properly. Charmander would love a fenced yard, siblings, and mostly a human to love forever- if you believe you gotta catch this guy and bring him home- follow the link below to our website and complete the required ADOPTION APPLICATION.

**PLEASE NOTE: Applicants must live within an hour radius of Toledo, Ohio

*Charmander is neutered, current on shots for his age, and on monthly preventatives for heartworm/fleas
*His adoption fee is $350.00

Additional adoption info

Dogworks strives to place dogs into permanent homes based on the dogs' personalities and yours. To adopt a dog, we require a completed application, signed adoption contract, and home visit.

Adoption applications are available on our website (www.dogworksohio.com) and at all Meet & Greets. Once your application has been submitted, we will contact your references and consider suitability. You will be contacted by phone or email, typically within 4 business days, to discuss arrangements for adoption contract and home visit.

Adoption fees are variable (typically $125-$250) and are listed with the description of each dog. Adoption fee will be refunded if you decide that the dog is not compatible with your family within 2 weeks.

Adopted dogs must be returned to Dogworks in the event that they can no longer remain a member of your household for any reason.

All dogs have been updated on vaccines and tested for heartworm prior to adoption. Adult dogs and puppies older than 14 weeks are spayed/neutered. Adopters of younger puppies are required to sign an agreement to complete spay/neuter by 6 months of age. We will assist with spay/neuter costs. Adopters will receive a copy of medical records.

You can also make an appointment to meet any of dogs after an application has been submitted and approved.

More about this rescue

Dogworks is an all-volunteer, nonprofit group based in Toledo, OH, whose purpose is to rescue, rehabilitate, and re-home abandoned, neglected, and unwanted dogs. Our focus has been on sporting dogs, both purebreds and mixed breeds. Most dogs are rescued from euthanizing shelters, although some come to us from relinquishing owners or other means. All dogs are fostered in volunteer homes until adoption. We do not have a shelter or kennel facility.
