We acquired Mango 9 months ago after the passing of her owner. He had her since she was a pup. From what we know, seen, and was told to us; is that she’s always been a friendly, kind and loving dog. Approximately 4 years ago, while standing up, a small boy jumped onto Mango’s back as if he was riding a horse. Mango immediately fell to the ground, and upon trying to stand, she no longer had ability to use her back legs. She was immediately taken to the University of Georgia’s veterinary hospital & diagnosed with a severed spine. At that point, she was taken to surgery and entered rehabilitation. She’s now able to use her back legs with some limitations, such as jumping up to greet anyone, or upon a high surface. She also is unable to fully control her bowel and bladder. She requires a lot of Outside time, and a big yard would behoove her. She sleeps well, and loves her walks. We took her to our veterinarian as soon as we took her. He confirmed that she is in very good health.
