Here's what the humans have to say about me:
IDGSR Welcomes LUKE into the safety of the rescue!!
THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT
**************
Howdy! My name is Luke and I'm an ultra handsome bi-color 6year old male German Shepherd. I am located near Madisonville, Tennessee and am available for transport to my forever home!
A little backstory on me: It was a cold February day, I was wandering around by myself, starving, hurting, and desperately needing a warm and safe home. These great people saved me, nursed me back to health, and have helped me be ready for adoption! My foster mom can share more of my story if you'd like to know!
Here are 10 fun facts about me & my ideal home!
1. I'm a big boy, about 88lbs, & I LOVE attention! I love getting all the pets, ear scratches, and tummy rubs.
2. I know how to sit, shake, lay down, and I'm a champ when walking on a leash! We could brush up on some of my obedience training but I'm pretty well behaved.
3. I'm KID FRIENDLY!! You can see me with some fun kiddos in my video. I also LOVE puppies and do well with calm dogs. If you have a calm pupper, with proper introductions we can learn to get along.
4. I am house trained! My foster mom says I'm a "perfect gentleman" and I don't get into anything when they leave me at home.
5. I love to play with my humans. I don't really understand toys but I do love to play. Maybe you can teach me how to play ball or with other toys?!
6. I love peanut butter, cheese, treats, and dog cookies - I'll do just about anything for one of those!
7. If you like to play dress up for holidays, I don't mind the occasional outfit, as long as it makes me look extra handsome!
8. I LOVE car rides and feeling the wind on my face!
9. My perfect home is with a person or family who will treat me as a member of the family, love me, give me lots of treats and tummy rubs, and will remind me every single day that I'm the bestest boy EVER!
10. I'm super resilient, loving, affectionate, calm, friendly, and the perfect gentleman.

More about this rescue
Imminent Danger German Shepherd Rescue started in 2011 rescuing German Shepherds and High Content Mixes from the Imminent Danger where they were sitting on Death Row in High Kill Animal Control Facilities in TN, NC, SC,KY, VA, GA & AL.Over 1000 Dogs lives have been spared and we've never worked so hard in our lives to save these wonderful kids. Our process from saving these kids includes 30 years of experience in working breed dogs. We conduct Safer Tests with all dogs to determine the abilities of the dogs so that we can match the right dog to the right family. We do not shove our dogs out the door. We do multiple videos of the dogs as well to our potential adopters. We disclose all positive and negative behavior traits so our adopters can work on any training the dog may need. IDGSR starts the rehabilitation and training with these wonderful kids and our adopters are part of the team of folks who help to ensure these kids will never suffer another day of hardship in their lives again. IDGSR will not take Aggressive Dogs into the Rescue.
If you have ever loved a German Shepherd then you will know where our hearts are to save these dogs from a certain death. It is our goal to save more but we need wonderful qualified families who want to save a life and welcome a new family member. We continue the work with our adopters even after adoption, we help with training and advice and counsel. IDGSR's staff look forward to hearing from you. Help us to find your new devoted and loyal best friend.
