Meet Miracle!
Breed: Lab/Corgi Mix
Estimated DOB: 10/03/2022
Sex: Female - Spayed
Weight: 20 lbs
Vaccinations: Up to date on all age-appropriate vaccinations
Things To Know about Miracle:
- Miracle's journey began when she was discovered in a ditch along a Mississippi road, unable to stand, walk or eat. Only days away from euthanisia, our Rescue partner stepped up and took her in.
- When she first arrived to TLC, Miracle's spirit seemed a bit broken. She was very timid and unsure of the world around her. As she grew more comfortable in her foster home thanks to her canine companions, she began to play and show her spunky personality. However, subtle signs of cognitive issues also began to emerge – moments of imbalance, bumping into objects, blank stares, etc. Concerned for her well-being, we sought answers with our friends at VRC Malvern.
- After numerous diagnostic tests (MRI, Spinal Tap, PCR) adding up to over $4,000, it was confirmed that Miracle has atrophy of the brain. The damage was most likely caused by a previous infection, which originally left her unable to walk & eat. Miraculously, her little body began to heal itself all on it's own.
- Initially extremely timid but improves each day with the help of her foster brothers and sisters
- Miracle's new home will need to have at least 1 confident dog to help Miracle continue to improve
- She will benefit from patient & understanding adopters who will take it slow with her and help her through moments of disorientation
- Miracle engages with her foster family more and more over time, showing curiosity and playful tendencies
- Crate trained - eats and sleeps in her crate
- Now housebroken on a schedule, but will likely need a transition period in a new home.
- Dog friendly and requires the presence of another confident, playful dog(s)
- Cat friendly
- Did we mention she is also pig friendly and lives with pet pigs!?
- Requires a patient and understanding adopter, as it can be challenging to distinguish her timidity from her brain disorder.
