Hi there, my name is Ivy and I am a small Carolina Dog mix about 2 years old, 23 lbs, and I was rescued from a high kill shelter in Corpus Christi Texas. I’m a sweet girl, but shy at first with strangers, and didn't realize I needed to be bouncy and friendly with all the people walking past my kennel to get adopted. Instead, I was scared and hid in the corner and ended up on the euthanasia list a few weeks later. But then, a miracle occurred. 4 Little Paws Rescue transferred me out so I could live in a foster home, relax, make friends, be loved, and do all the good stuff other dogs do, and I did. I made friends with everyone, dogs and humans, kids too, and I turned out to be one of the “favorite” foster dogs since I’m kind, and calm, and affectionate, and just easy to be around. I’m still not playful with the other dogs but I’m nice and friendly and don't mind their company. I’m housebroken, not very barky, and I can walk easily on a leash. I have a medium energy level, very soft fur, and I’m cute. I’m moving to the Connecticut area and hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so I can't wait to meet them and get my life started!
* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
