My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you are ready for a very sweet cat then please consider Onyx. He is an amazing, especially sweet, (I am repeating because he is so sweet), friendly (he will approach and greet your friends,) very affectionate, and confident cat. He is very curious yet calm, and super smart. Anyone lucky enough to make Onyx part of his or her family will be blessed with a loving companion. Onyx is a very people friendly and social cat who loves to get pets and attention.

To Onyx, there is nothing better than following you from room to room. He is also quick to play, chase string toys and balls, snuggle, purr when you pet him, stretch, and sleep near his family. He enjoys being on your chest or lap, or lying next to your torso. He likes sleeping on your bed or a nearby chair where he can keep tabs on you. He gets along well with other cats and grooms them. He chases them around and through the cat condos. It looks like a race track. He always uses the litter box, every time. He always scratches the legs of the cat condo, and never scratches the furniture.

Onyx has beautiful, soft fur. It's mostly black but some of it is the color of fresh eggplant. And then, there are his eyes - his expressive green eyes. They are gorgeous and shine with all the great warmth and love Onyx has to give. It is time to give Onyx a wonderful, forever home he so richly deserves.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
