My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Schumpi! Are you seeking a furry friend who's as energetic and playful as they come? Look no further than Schumpi, a shiny, stunningly beautiful black Great Dane/Lab mix with boundless energy and a heart of gold. At just six months old and 55 lbs, Schumpi is ready to find her perfect match—a home with another dog to share her adventures and keep up with her lively spirit.

Schumpi is a social butterfly who thrives in the company of other dogs. She plays exceptionally well with pups of all sizes, and has even won over the hearts of the two cats here, who are just a fraction of her size. Having a furry sibling to romp around with would be the icing on the cake for this spirited Dane. With the companionship of another dog, Schumpi's high energy levels will be perfectly matched, ensuring endless hours of fun and excitement for all her companions, both furry friends and humans alike.

But Schumpi's affectionate nature extends far beyond her interactions with other dogs. She's a true sweetheart who adores human companionship and loves nothing more than snuggling up on your lap, even if most of her remains firmly planted on the floor. Whether it's cuddle time with you or playtime with her furry friend, Schumpi's presence is sure to bring warmth and joy to your home.

In addition to her playful demeanor, Schumpi is also a quick learner with a penchant for pleasing her humans. She's already mastered basic commands like sit, down, and shake, and with her food-motivated personality, she's eager to learn even more. With the guidance and support of her new family, Schumpi is poised to excel in her training and become the well-behaved companion you've always dreamed of.

When it comes to outdoor adventures, Schumpi is in her element. She's easy to handle on leash and delights in exploring the great outdoors, taking in all the sights, sounds, and smells the world has to offer. Whether it's a leisurely walk around the neighborhood or an exhilarating romp on the beach, Schumpi is always up for the challenge and ready to embark on new adventures with her beloved family by her side.

More about this rescue

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
