Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Introducing Piglet! Piglet’s story is sad, but deserves to be told. Very soon after having puppies, Piglet was given away when her owner suddenly “had to move”. Piglet was then abandoned by her new owner just days after she arrived. Luckily, Piglet was taken in by a WONDERFUL family who have helped her recover. Sadly, the five week old puppies were never located.
Now, on to the happy part! Piglet is absolutely thriving in her foster home and her foster family speaks so highly of her! We were told Piglet LOVES kids and other dogs, is house trained, knows commands once you have her attention (since she is deaf), and loves relaxing in her crate. She is only around 3 years old and truly has so much love to give. She enjoys lounging around with the other dogs in the home and is a loving, kind-hearted, sweetheart! If you’re interested in adopting Piglet, please let us know!

The Marion County Dog Pound is now under the control of the Marion County Sheriff's Office and is located at 2252 Richland Road. We are required by law to hold a dog for 3 days to allow the owner to claim the dog. If it is not claimed, it will then be an adoptable dog. We will post all adoptable dogs on our Facebook page along with pictures. The adoption fee is $123.00 which includes the spay/neuter surgery, Heartworm tes, rabies, Intra-trac, and Dapp Vaccines, and a dog tag. We are a rescue friendly facility and do not charge a pull fee, rescues are more than welcome to make a donation when pulling a vetted dog but it is not required.
Dogs are as is. There are no health guarantees
Adopters are required to sign an agreement to spay/neuter the dog if not already done, the dog may be seized if any portion of the adoption contract is broken.

More about this shelter
The Marion County Dog Pound is a county facility that is ran by the Marion County Sheriff's Office, we respond to stray/loose dogs and Humane cases, bringing in several dogs a week. Since the Sheriff's Office took over, we have became classified as a no-kill facility only euthanizing for sickness and aggression. We are doing our best to maintain a no-kill environment and are working diligently to help and re-home every dog that comes through our doors. To do this we need the help of our community. Volunteers are welcome to come out at any time!
