Patty is a doll face!! We just brought in a litter of adorable chiweenies from San Antonio Texas! These guys are the cutest little guys that should be about 14 pounds or less as adults. They are about 4 months old now and cute as a button. Of course chiweenie is another way of saying chihuahua and dachshund mixes. these kids are good with other dogs, live together at our shelter, and play constantly, rough housing their way through the day. They would love to go home and begin their new lives in their own home though. They will be going home on a foster to adopt basis, as they are not yet spayed or neutered. They will have to be altered when about 6 months or so by the new owner using a $50 voucher that we provide. Montana state law indicates to us that we need to collect a check for $125 to hold as a guarantee that this surgery will be completed as planned by the owner. Once completed the adoption is finalized. Their fee for adoption is $300 and they are fully vaccinated, microchipped and have a $50 voucher provided.

Our adoption fees do vary depending on the animal and all pets go to new owners already spayed and neutered, vaccinated and wormed. All adopters are given a two week adoption trial with an exchange guarantee if the animal does not work out. We require a completed adoption application, which is on line on our website, and a signed care contract. All pets go out with a copy of their signed agreement and a copy of their medical record. Fees for adult cats are $60-75 and kittens are $75. Fees for dogs are $125 to $200 for adult mixed breed up to $300 for purebred, small dog puppies.

Go meet their pets

TRACS offers appointments daily 1-5 PM during the week excluding Mondays to see and meet adoptable pets. Tracs also adopts cats and kittens from Petsmart in Missoula, Montana. We have adoption days for dogs and cats at Petsmart additionally about 6 times a year. We also attend annual adoption events in the Missoula and Kalispell areas of Montana.

TRACS has been in operation for 7 years and we have taken in and adopted out 3000 animals (as of 11/1/2013). We are mostly volunteers and pride ourselves on the fact that we have a new facility (small and humble but very comfortable) and have had for 2 years. We are a small budget organization and we receive no municipal or county support. We totally depend on donations to keep up our good work. We accept all donations of food, bedding, litter, or anything else that folks like to give us. Of course, monetary contributions are very much needed and are fully tax deductible.
