My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This fuzzy little cutie is Cricket. Cricket is about a year old, 6lb, white terrier mix (Yorkie, possibly Maltese mix). He has the softest fluff of fur. Cricket is super friendly, loves people, dogs, and cats equally. He loves to play and run around inside and out, but he is always the first to cuddle up next to you when you sit down. He is working on his potty skills and will need to learn your routine and follow a schedule. Leash skills are unknown, but he is young enough to easily learn. He will bark if other dogs around him are barking, but he's not an independent barker. Cricket loves to cuddle up next to you all night long and sleep by your side. He would do best in a home with another dog due to his playful nature. Due to his tiny size, no young children no pools or doggie doors

Adoption fee is $550.00

Adoption fees are variable. Up to date vaccines, microchip, heartworm negative, and neuter have been completed and are included in the fee.

Once your application has been approved, we will put you in touch with the foster to set up a meet and greet. We are a foster based RESCUE, not a shelter. All of our dogs are in individual foster homes. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dog's needs.

For the safety of our small breed dogs and based on our past experiences, we will not place our dogs in homes with large breed dogs.

CAMO rescue is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing small dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill TX shelters.

More about this rescue

CAMO Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that offers life, health, and a forever home. We specialize in dogs that other rescues can’t or won’t take due to fearful nature or medical needs. We primarily rescue ‘euthanasia listed’ animals that are in immediate danger of death. We provide shots, spay/neuter, microchip, foster homes, food, medical treatment and love to dogs that are abandoned, unwanted or otherwise in need. We never euthanize an animal to make room for another. In addition to caring for our dogs and finding the best possible home for them, we provide education to the community; encouraging and promoting responsible pet ownership. If needed, our rescue dogs are retrained to socialize in an adoptive loving family. We have had phenomenal success, and amazing support from our community. We believe that animals, as living creatures are entitled to a quality life, respect and compassion. Since humans have domesticated animals, we have a moral and ethical responsibility to care for them. We are partnered with many Shelters to help them reach the same goal.
