My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet little girl came to us when her owner was arrested and could no longer care for her. She was very scared and timid in her new surroundings and it took her awhile to come out of her shell. Once she realized that we were there to help her, she became a new dog! Nuve will need an owner that will take the time to help her gain confidence and understand that life is not scary! This little girl is super smart and already knows how to walk on leash, sit, shake and can catch treats in the air!

She has never been around cats so we aren't sure if she would be okay in a home with a feline friend. She did come to our shelter with her brother, Kilo, so she has been around dogs but we recommend a slow introduction to make sure she feels safe. We also recommend a home with older children.

Nuve is already spayed, microchipped, dewormed and up to date on her vaccines! Come meet this sweetheart!

Cats are $70.00, kittens are $100. Dogs are $100.00 and puppies are $150. This includes the spay or neuter, vaccination, microchips, a voucher for a free health exam at a local vet. We require photo identification and required adoption paperwork. You may take your new pet home the same day. There is a 7 day grace period for a refund to make sure that the animal is a fit for your household.

More about this shelter

Eagle County Animal Shelter and Services handles all of the animal control and animal shelter services for Eagle County. We are a small shelter and are considered socially conscious, which means we are "no-kill" for space. We are always looking for volunteers, foster homes, and item donations. If you are interested in donating to the shelter we have a wish list available that includes lots of items that we use everyday here at our shelter to benefit the dogs and cats directly. Please call us at 970-328-DOGS if you are interested in volunteering. We love to have people come in to socialize our cats and walk and socialize the dogs. Come see us!!
