Finn and his sister Dori entered Riverside County Animal Services on April 30 as strays in terrible, neglected shape. They were so matted that it impaired movement, so they were groomed under sedation for their comfort. Due to condition of Finn and Dori, the shelter reached out to rescues, and on May 7, they became Frosted Faces.
Finn is estimated to be 12 years old, and he weighs 11 lbs. As you can see in the photos, his eyes appear enlarged and painful. Following a full evaluation by our on-site veterinary team, Finn is currently on four different eye drops to treat ulcers and glaucoma.
Finn and Dori are a bonded pair, and when they are ready, we will be seeking a special family that will adopt them together. Fortunately, they are currently on a two-week Frosted Fling to receive extra love, care, and attention in the comforts of a home.
Their Fling Mom reports:
"Finn & Dori have been with us for 7 days now, and here is the scoop on these two --
They sleep on the same large bed.
Finn likes to sleep against another dog, Dori does not.
Finn is bonded to Dori but Dori is a 21st century girl and gets annoyed with Finn at times and wants her space.
Both dogs are very quiet, and we haven't heard either bark yet.
Finn enjoys being a lap or chest dog; Dori takes time to get used to it.
Finn is definitely more laid back and snuggly.
Both are great eaters enjoying regular food now and respect one another when eating or drinking.
Both enjoy wandering around the yard.
Both are blind although Dori may see about 10%. It only took them about 2 days to learn to navigate around the house and about 4 days to learn the layout of the yard.
They like to go out immediately after eating or drinking.
Finn is great with kids, but Dori does not care for a lot of handling at this point."
