My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! My name is Hailey and I just came to MN from Alabama, where I was found on the street. I am super sweet and love to be close to humans, especially when they pet me. My foster mother in Alabama was a dog trainer and I already know sit and lay down. When my new foster mom says, “Let’s go for a walk,” I get so excited. I like to sniff and explore and check in frequently with the human walking me. I don’t pull on the leash even when my foster sister is trying to chase after a rabbit. All of these things are going to make training me so much quicker.

I am very chill and content to just lay down on the floor while I watch my foster mom cook and do things around the house. I do not jump on people and just walk up calmly to them. I also love treats and very food motivated.

I like to wrestle and play with my energetic foster sister, but I also like to have space, especially when I am eating my food. I sleep in the crate all night and hang out there when my foster mother goes to work and on errands. I scratch at the door when I want to go outside.

I am really ready to meet and bond with my new forever family.

All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption.

Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.

More about this rescue

The mission of Warrior Dog Rescue is to save the dogs that are homeless, left abandoned in shelters, are surrendered by their owners, those that are being abused and neglected, and those that are left wandering. We are committed to providing them the medical care they need, helping them to overcome their past by providing them loving, educated foster homes, finding them their perfect forever home by means of a thorough adoption process, and guiding them on their journey into their new life. They all deserve a “good dog life… every single one of them.”

Warrior Dog Rescue will be a model rescue by partnering with overcrowded shelters that need to make room for more abandoned dogs. We will continue to educate others about responsible dog ownership in regards to safety, spay/neuter, nutrition, obedience, socializing, abuse, and neglect. We acknowledge that we will have a role in this industry to take the lead on providing awareness to others in the community and across the country. Every dog will know what it feels like to be loved till the end of their life.
