ASTRO's previous owner came to the tourist area, lived there for a while, and then left due to ill health, leaving the dog alone in an empty house. The neighbors took turns taking care of him for over a year, but he was infected with heartworms and we rescued him at their request. And now he is cured and healthy.
Rambunctious and full of energy. He loves people, but he's also skittish, so loud noises and excessive gestures can startle him. Has a demanding bark. He sheds very little fur and has a lot of water. His mouth must be wiped after drinking water and his fur must be brushed daily to prevent tangles.
He is not wary of strangers. He does not attack other dogs or make the first move. They prefer to go for walks with their owners rather than play with other dogs. We can't comment on his behavior with cats because he's never met one.
He doesn't like to be bothered by small dogs. We recommend that he be adopted as an only dog or to a family with another dog of the same breed.

We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
