Meet Skipper, a stunning Standard Schnauzer mix female about 8 months old. Still a puppy with a big personality. Her past is a bit of a mystery, all we know is that she went from home to home till she ended up with us.
She is a medium size dog at about 40 lbs. We have not seen her shed so she must have a low to non shedding coat.
Vaccinated, spayed, microchipped.
Lived with small children. Crate trained. Friendly with other dogs, livestock. Will chase small running animals, so probably no cats or house rabbits.
She knows basic commands, responsive to training but still has a lot to learn and needs guidance.

We are looking for an experienced person for her who is familiar with the breed or protective guardian breeds. She is alert and not trustworthy with strangers but it’s not hard to make friends with her. Food motivated. Will need to work on her socialization. Very loving with people she trusts. Professional training is recommended.

!Skipper is very athletic and can jump 6 ft solid fence unless she is familiar with a home and is not left unattended outside. She is not trying to escape but to find her family. A pool type of iron fence would be best or leash walks. Some yard digging if left unattended and bored.
For the most part she is very calm. Great indoors. Non destructive. No separation anxiety. She is Not a high energy dog. Quiet and mellow but will alert of any disturbance and be on guard. Playful and affectionate. She would be great for someone active & energetic, looking for a companion dog who is loyal and is protective by nature and has time to spend with her. If you have a home with high foot traffic or gone 8+ hours a day, this dog will not be a good fit!
Skipper is a lot of fun, very loving and entertaining. Not dominant nor stubborn. She possesses some Schnauzer traits but not all. No off leash time in public or open spaces unless in a fenced area.
It is truly a joy to have around.

We are sure that the right home is out there for her. She has lots of love to give, a loyal protector & companion by your side and truly is a joy to have around.,Never a dull moment.
