My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

THE FIRST STEP IN THE PROCESS IS SUBMITTING AN APPLICATION EMBEDDED IN THE LISTING DESCRIPTION IF YOU READ THROUGH. WE DO NOT ACCEPT ADOPT-A-PET APPLICATIONS. WE CANNOT ANSWER EMAILS ASKING ABOUT A DOG'S AVAILABILITY. IF IT IS LISTED WITHOUT THE WORD "PENDING" IT MEANS IT IS AVAILABLE. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE

Check out ALL of our listings at this link!!
If you need an official "greeter" in your home, Millie is ready for the job!! Millie is the pint-sized social butterfly of a litter of 3 little sisters, ready to see and explore the world!! She is a true people dog and loves to be in the limelight every chance she gets. She was the first to jump on the couch at her foster home and the expression on her face was priceless when she finally accomplished it, now it is a breeze. The big dogs at her foster home thought they could hide bones from her - - not anymore! She's as clever as she is adorable!! Millie is playful with everyone, extremely friendly, and we think she believes she is the cutest (she may be right!!)

Millie is about 10 weeks old, she weighs between 8 - 10 pounds and she's a very healthy girl. With her markings it's hard to tell what her true mix is, so if you're looking for a specific breed please understand we have no idea what breed she is, how big she'll get or how small she'll stay. But if you're looking for a beautiful, sweet, smart, lovable puppy who will love you back forever, please visit www.pinkshelter.org for more information about the adoption process or click here for our online application. Full vetting, microchip and spay included in her $650 adoption fee. Transport fee is additional $140. IF YOU HAVE AOL or YAHOO PLEASE CHECK YOUR SPAM FILE FOR OUR RESPONSE

Additional adoption info

The first step in the process is submitting an online application located through a link in each pet's description, or from our website at www.pinkshelter.org under the "How to Adopt" tab. Whenever possible we like to begin review with a vet reference. After that, we will be in touch to set up a lengthy phone interview where each of us has the opportunity to ask all our questions of the other. Home visits are at our discretion. Once approved, there is a contract and transport is arranged if necessary.

Go meet their pets

We do not have a facility in Connecticut, so you can only visit The Little Pink Shelter on the internet. Our dogs and puppies are usually fostered in the south and the overwhelming majority of them are adopted out before they arrive so they can go right home after transport and begin bonding with their new forever families! Check out the "Love Fests" Albums on our Facebook Fan Page!

We are always in search of short term foster homes up here in Connecticut and the surrounding states!!! If you're not ready for a full 15+ year commitment, or if you have always wanted to help in some way, please consider short-term fostering a dog or puppy for us! Write us for more info!

More about this rescue

Little Pink Shelter is a registered 501(c)3 charity. All donations are tax-deductible.

When I started The Little Pink Shelter back in 2008, my mission was to help shelter dogs win their fight for a second chance at life; as a breast cancer survivor, I knew all too well the sweetness of that victory. Since founding The Little Pink Shelter, we have placed over 4,000+ dogs and puppies into loving homes.

The Little Pink Shelter is considered more of a "boutique" rescue, focusing solely on making an adoption successful. Working closely with select shelters and rescues in Arkansas where the pet overpopulation continues to be out of control, my colleagues and I are careful to temperament test each dog so we can understand the type of home to which it will be best-suited.

Too many wonderful dogs are put down each week because of lack of space, lack of funding and a widespread disregard for spaying/neutering and responsible ownership. The plight of these dogs and the quest to find each one a loving home is what fuels us every day.
