My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mama Madison 🩷 this girl is one of the sweetest dogs and was the best mama despite some horrible situations. Mama and babies were brought in to a rural, small, South Louisiana shelter. Puppies began to become very sickly and were brought to the vet for emergency care - sadly she started with 8 and one by one they died until she was left with 3 survivors who literally fought for their lives. Thousands of dollars were invested in these puppies as well as top notch care but it still wasn’t enough to save 5 of them.

Mama Madison truly loved and nurtured her puppies. She’s the sweetest dog. About 35 pounds and will make an excellent dog for the perfect family. She deserves a great home. Our hope is someone will read her story, look past the fact she is a black, mixed breed dog and give her a chance 🩷

More about this rescue

The mission of Southern States Bully Rescue is to provide a Second Chance to the breed that needs it the most. So many Bully breed type dogs die every day across the United States for lack of shelter space, financial resources, education and homes. We hope to make an impact on the number of homeless companion animals, while specializing in the bully breeds specifically, in the Southern States.
