Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Turtle !!
This sweet boy is a near perfect addition to any family. He is already mostly trained and super loving and easy to have around.
Turtle is a 7 year old, male, beagle mix. He weighs 35 pounds but needs to losing some weight to be his best self again. His ideal weight is closer to 25 pounds.
He is already neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. He is heartworm negative.
Turtle has been great to have in the home. He does have some issues with peeing inside. He does well when watched carefully. When he gets up you need to usher him right outside each time. We’ve been doing some testing to see if it’s medical but so far his health is great. Might just be he never learned it and is taking his time figuring it out. His Foster has been working with him on this training but his new family will need to help continue that.
He did great with meeting all the dogs in his foster home. He’s with small and large dogs, senior and playful dogs. He’s great with them all. He isn’t fostered with cats but his previous owner said he does well with them. He’s also wonderful with children.
Turtle blends well into most family settings. He has a medium energy level. He’s relaxed and chill but will also play with you or the other dogs. He’s an excellent mole hunter. He lives up to his hound genetics in that respect. If you’re unwilling to deal with that behavior and you have moles then he’s not the one for you.
His foster says he listens well and is a joy to have around. He isn’t really into being held but loves to sit beside you and chew a bone or sleep. (He’s not aggressive when picked up he just doesn’t enjoy being held)
Beagles can typically be very vocal. So far the only time Turtle has been vocal is when he is on his great mole quests. 😂🤦🏼♀️
He has not shown any aggression at all. He’s been fine sharing food, treats and toys with both humans and other dogs.
We are very excited to see him find his perfect new home. He is a great little guy and would be an easy first time dog or for someone who doesn’t have the time to train a puppy.
Vet and home checks required.
Located in Hampton VA.
(He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius)
