My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A FUN-LOVING BOY:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 37 lbs.

Hi, my name is Carlson!  I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  The volunteers are taking great care of me here, and I love them.  I can’t wait until I can share my love with my new lucky family!  I hope they come find me soon.

• OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and it took me a while to warm up to them.  I seemed more comfortable with the female dogs than the male dogs, so if you have a nice female doggie at home already, let’s meet.  /Cats unknown. / I recently met kids around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and liked them. If you have kids at home, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.

• PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a happy, happy guy with a sweet and fun demeanor.  Friendly and playful, I have lots of jumpy enthusiasm, and the volunteers describe me as just ‘tail wagging sweetness’.   I’m not a bit shy about showing you how much I love you!  / My energy level is 5-7.

• SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I expect to be a graduate very soon!  I’ve already learned ‘sit’ (I do a perfect one), ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘place’, ‘stay’, ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’.  I also accept nice strangers without jumping and walk nicely on a leash.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, though I don’t always want to go back in after spending time with the volunteers. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills.

• LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy being active and spending time with people.  Play time is great, and I’m always happy to see the toys being brought out.  I can’t wait for the fun times ahead with my family, and I will thank you in my favorite way – by giving you kisses. / I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training.

• MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.

I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving, furever family that will be active with me!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Mostly Mutts Animal Rescue & Adoption's Adoption Process

Our facility is currently open to the public Monday-Saturday, 11-3. We welcome you to come meet our adoptable Mutts & Kitties! Please keep in mind the following:

Many of our adoptable Mutts & Kitties are in foster homes, so please call 770-272-6888 to find out if the pet you are interested in is at our facility. With an approved application we can set up meet & greets and adoptions with a pet in foster care.
We are not yet up to full ‘staffing’ following the pandemic, so there may be times when we cannot do meet & greets or process an application on the spot.
The best first step is to submit an application via www.mostlymutts.org.
Our adoption counselors are happy to help make a great match for you and your family!

Adoption Info:
Please submit an application through our website at www.mostlymutts.org if you are interested in one of our adoptable pets. We are receiving a large volume of applications and processing may take a little bit longer than normal. We are grateful for your interest, and an adoption counselor will be in touch as quickly as possible. Please give us 48 hours to respond before sending a follow-up email.

Don’t see a dog or cat for you on the website? Submit the application anyway!! We are taking in a large number of dogs and cats weekly. Due to the overwhelming demand, many are matched with approved applicants prior to being posted online. Our adoption counselors will be happy to help make a great match for you and your family.

Thank you for your patience and support!

You may also call our phone line, 770-272-6888 or email adopt@mostlymutts.org with specific questions about any of our adoptable animals. We do require an interview, references and a contract. Who We Are:

Mostly Mutts is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization, staffed almost entirely by volunteers!

Our Mission is to help the Unwanted, Abandoned, Abused and Sick animals in our local counties. We fulfill this mission by working closely with County Animal Control Facilities, saving those who are in imminent danger of euthanasia, or those with needs which require specialized vet care that many other groups will not consider: major orthopedic issues, heartworm positive treatment, skin conditions, neglect and abuse
