My name is Neal!

Hi, I'm Neal, a short-haired black and brown male tabby with a short bobtail. I'm a sweet and adventurous guy who loves being where the action is. I am curious and thrifty, and I want to know what's on the other side of closed doors, whether it leads to another room in your house or the outside. My future owner will need to be very careful when opening outside doors because I will try to go through as soon as it opens. My absolute dream home will have an enclosed catio that allows me to enjoy some outside time in a safe area. I would consider some harness training too, so that I could learn to walk around with a leash if a catio is not available. However, I've never done that before, so it would take some indoor training first. I do love being petted, and I may bump heads with you to show you how much I'm loving your attention. My favorite place to be petted is all over my head, but I'm not a big fan of being petted by my rump. I am ok being picked up briefly, yet I'm ready to move on. I am a goofy boy who can sometimes be found sitting upright leaning against a wall, exposing my belly! This is just a favorite sitting position of mine, not an invitation for tummy rubs. I am a confident boy and can get overstimulated, so I would be most successful as an only kitty with older kids or adults in the home. I would thrive with someone who is home much of the day. My favorite toys are strings and wand toys and I can get very competitive! I need a little time to calm down from playing before I'm ready to enjoy pets. My vet estimated my DOB at 8/08/16, and I have a grade 3/6 sternal heart murmur.
