Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Peanut has a sad story. She ended up as a stray at animal control. At first, she was extremely snappy and snarly. Peanut must have been in unthinkable pain at that time. She had been shot in the face with a bullet loaded with "snake shot" consisting of thousands of tiny pellets which pierced her eye and burned into the skin on top of her head. The result is that at least for now, she has bald patches on top of her head and her right eye is cloudy gray in color. She is completely blind in her right eye. We cannot imagine what monster would harm a sweet little dog in that way...
Peanut weighs about 14 pounds and is about 2 years old. Her super-short hair is non-shedding.
Once she got out of animal control and the confines of a small pen, Peanut blossomed. She is housebroken, non-destructive, and loves to sleep next to her foster mom every night. Peanut comes when called and is always in a good mood. Because she is now blind in her right eye, she sometimes bumps into furniture or doorways, but for the most part, she gets around just fine. She runs and jumps outside and does not seem to have any hesitation to explore.
Peanut needs a loving home that will keep her safe and loved forever. Other than being blind, Peanut has no other health issues. Peanut has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and tested negative for heartworms. Her adoption fee is $250.
If you are interested in adopting Peanut, please write to us at PricelessPoochRescue@gmail.com. We are a foster home based organization located in western North Carolina. We are about 2 hours' drive from Asheville, Atlanta or Chattanooga, and often make trips to the Atlanta area.
