Meet Opie
Introducing Opie!
Opie is an adorable Chiweenie (Chihuahua, Dachshund) mix who is approximately 2 to 3 years old and currently weighs 12 pounds. We rescued this cutie from the Weslaco shelter in south Texas near the border of Mexico. He was in a kennel with a couple other dogs and we believe Opie is the dad to some of the puppies. This little family came to the shelter as strays and we're so excited to have them here with us to help them find loving, forever homes!
Opie is a sweet and social dog. He is VERY playful and happy. He enjoys playing with toys and IS VERY treat motivated. He is a very smart dog and learns new routines quickly. He is attentive and always ready for a fun adventure. We just love his little curly tail, too, which just adds to his charm. He is a wonderful size and will make a sweet companion for a family who has lots of love to share.
He gets along well with the other dogs in his play group and he would have a great time having a little canine companion to romp around and play with. He is crate trained for his meals and for sleeping, but would be perfectly content to cuddle up with his people at night, too. He is just a wonderful little dude and we can really see him doing well in just about any family environment. He is such a fun dog who can’t wait for home and family of his own!
Opie is located at our rescue in Hondo, Texas and is available for transport to Allen Park, MI on June 15, 2024. He is neutered, up to date on all shots, microchipped and his adoption fee is $400. The fee includes the transport cost.
