My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Hello, my name is Rodger, and I am an adorable senior dog with a gentle and independent spirit. I am friendly and get along with most people, and I am always curious and eager to explore and learn new things. I am a quiet and polite dog, but I also have a playful side that comes out when I am feeling energetic. I am not sure how I feel about other dogs, and would be happier as the only dog. I am a bit set in my ways, but I have a heart of gold and will bring lots of love to my forever home. If you are looking for a sweet and affectionate companion, I am the dog for you. Please consider adopting me into your loving home, as a senior dog like me is full of love and has lots of love and companionship to give."

More about this rescue

Established in 2005, The Animal Advocates is a non-profit auxiliary organization that supports the animals of Barnwell County and the Barnwell County Shelter.

Mission: Our mission is to provide care and shelter for stray, abandoned and abused cats and dogs in our community; to place these animals in stable and loving permanent homes; to promote and provide spay/neuter surgeries to reduce the animal population; and, to make the public aware and educate the community on the proper care and treatment of all animals.

General Information Our Friend for Life Center is strictly provided to help the animals of Barnwell County. The Animal Advocates pull adoptable animals from the Barnwell County Animal Shelter that would otherwise be euthanized. It is our policy that we cannot accept animals from the public.
