My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kylie! This herding breed girl is looking for a herding-breed savvy adopter to be the right match. Kylie has been noted to be social and wiggly by Shelter staff. We do not have any history of Kylie with children. She loves to run and will thrive in a home that provides above average activity. Agility activities like cat walks, tunnels, and weave poles may be a great way for an adopter to channel Kylie’s energy and smarts for good! Kylie has met dogs at the Shelter – similar size and smaller – and has interacted nicely. A home with another dog is likely a fit provided they meet at the Shelter prior to adoption. Kylie went to a big public event with volunteers and was a superstar! She rode in the car well, stayed calm and patient with lots of activity going on, and interacted with other shelter pups playfully and respectfully- she handles a lot of chaos and stimulation with grace and respesented SCCAS beautifully. Kylie’s play style is likely rooted in her breed make up so a home with a dog that enjoys a game of place and is generally not bothered by some herding behaviors is best. We do not have any history of Kylie with cats besides some observations of her seeing them out in the world. Kylie’s adopters should anticipate putting energy towards positive reinforcement based training to help her learn life skills and manners such as crate training and potty training. She is already getting a head start on all of this in a wonderful foster home. Her fosters report: `Kiley is doing amazing. She is learning to wait at an open door instead of running outside, lay down, and stay. We are also working on crate training. She was left alone for about 15 minutes and dind`t leave a peep. We are slowly increasing the time she is able to be left alone and she is doing so well.` Interested in meeting? Come on down to the Shelter today to set up a meet and greet.
