My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bruce will be a year old in July so is still growing a bit. He weighs 56 pounds now,  has a wooly reddish coat with smooth black fur underneath showing some old injuries that have healed. He also has a chipped tooth. We suspect he was run over by something heavy enough to scrape off fur but not hurt him inside. He was dropped at the county pound with his name and age, but no other information. A good companion, he loves doing yard work and chores, just to trot around with you. He is neutered and current on shots, heartworm negative, taking Doxy for a month for Lyme. House and crate trained. Fee $150. Apply at morganspot.org.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

SPOT has an adoption application at morganspot.org. It asks for a vet reference and takes a day or less to be approved. We also have an adoption contract in which the adopter agrees to provide good care, not sell the pet, and return it to SPOT if there are problems.

Go meet their pets

SPOT attends Mingle With Our Mutts at the Franklin County shelter in Columbus, Ohio, every 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. We host a Mutt Strutt on the Saturday after Mothers Day in May, a free event to promote spay/neuter and showcase dogs. All our pets are in foster care and we are very flexible about meeting arrangements.

More about this rescue

Our mission is to reduce the numbers for unwanted pets in Morgan County. We rescue, foster, and adopt out dogs, cats, and horses. We provide low-cost or free spay/neuter services for pets of low-income owners and have an emergency pet food pantry for those in need.
We do out-of-state adoptions and recommend RescueRidersTransport for long trips.
