My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Stubs is a fun-loving, happy, active, neutered male shar-pei. He has been neutered, has had entropion eyelid surgery and is looking for an active owner or family to go on adventures with! But don't worry, Stubs can amuse himself for hours with toys! He would love to play soccer or fetch, and would be a great running or hiking companion. As a bonus, he tested well with other dogs (or course wanting to play)! He was overlooked at a northern California shelter for too long and is now with Pei People! Stubs is about 57 pounds and up for any adventure. He would do best in a home with a yard or someone that exercises him regularly. Note that some of his photos show a long tail. His tail was amputated at the shelter after suffering from happy tail (he was so happy and wagging it would not heal from a wound). His tail is now a few inches long (think boxer length). Hence is name, Stubs! Stubs is fostering just outside San Francisco, California area.May 27, 2024, 1:03 pm

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We require an adoption questionnaire (found online at www.PeiPeople.com) from all prospective adopters as well an an adoption contract , home visit and a reasonable adoption fee. We do not have any "free" animals.

Any pets that are not already neutered upon rescue will be neutered before placement into homes, unless a medical condition prohibits surgery.

Go meet their pets

At this time we are showing pets by appointment. Most of the pets displayed here are in foster care, some are in kennels at boarding facilities and need foster homes. Please feel free to email us so you can fill out an application, which is required prior to meeting dogs

We are happy to send additional photos and bios of pets to prospective adopters.
