My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Miverva
Domestic Shorthair, Born in 2021 Black and White Tuxedo, Spayed female

Hello there! I'm Minerva, AKA Min, Minnie, The Min. I'll answer to all of the above. I was found in an abandoned car with my 4 two week old kittens and ended up at Chicago Animal Care and Control. The very next day we were transferred to C.A.R.E. What a relief it was to be able to raise my 4 beautiful kittens in a loving foster home. My babies have all found their way to forever homes and now it's my turn. You might say I'm discovering what it is like to be a single girl again!

I'm sweet and petite, not so much a lap cat, but I do like to be close to my humans. I've also been described as friendly and chatty. I'm pretty low key, and mellow and got along well with the resident cats in my foster home so feline companionship is a-ok in my book. I recently came to the adoption center from my foster home and while it is nice here and the volunteers take good care of me, I'm really ready to start the next chapter in my life. WIll you be the setting of my happily ever after?

Our fees include a full medical exam by a veterinarian. This includes a Feline Leukemia and FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) test for cats, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, deworming and Spay/Neuter. Dogs receive a Heartworm Check, Spay/Neuter, Rabies and Distemper Vaccines, Canine Flu Vaccine, deworming, and Kennel Cough preventative. Our modest adoption fees do not cover the procedures and vet work that we provide the animals. We fundraise to make up the difference. Any ongoing medical needs that C.A.R.E. is aware of are explained fully, (including daily medicine costs), to the potential adopter, and become the responsibility of the adopter.
