My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Tupelo, MS
DOB: 9/16/21 (estimate)

Hi y’all! I’m Remington, but you can call me Remmy. Let me try and sit still long enough to tell you a little about myself.
I'm about 2 and a half years old, and I’ve got a LOT of puppy energy packed into my sleek, shiny black coat. With my big, soulful brown eyes and goofy floppy ears, I’m a heart-melter even when I’m being a little rambunctious. I love to run, run, and run some more—my absolute favorite activity!
My sisters are trying to teach me some manners when we play, so that’s still a work in progress. I admit I can be the annoying little brother, but I’m learning! I’m pretty lean, but I do love to eat, and food is a huge motivator for me. I’ve learned to wait for my food bowl and not to eat my sisters’ food, which made my foster mom so proud!
My leash manners are pretty good, especially when it’s just me and I’m not distracted by everyone else. Toys are becoming my favorite things—especially the big ones I can sling around! My foster mom is trying to make sure her shoes stay put away because I’ve left a few with my chomper marks and a generous coating of slobber. She doesn’t seem to appreciate my artwork as much as I do.
I absolutely love snuggles. If you’re sitting where I can rest my head on your shoulder, I’ll make myself comfy and hug you as long as you’ll let me. I’m very much a “velcro” dog because I stick close to my people.
I’m a little shy at first, but as soon as I know you’re going to scratch my head and call me pretty, I’m your best friend. I’ve been fine with kids that I have met—it takes me a minute to warm up, but I’m very gentle with them. I have not done well with cats previously because I will give a high energy chase and get a little too crazy.
If you’re looking for a goofy, loving, and energetic companion who will stick by your side, I might just be the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find my forever family to share my endless love and energy with. Let’s make some memories together!

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
