My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This sweet boy was returned again. He is choosy on his dogs and cats. He was cat tested in a home with our volunteer and with my outside cats and did fine but once he was in his new home he was not. The first adoption his companion dog and he were best friends but the roommates dog was the problem. At my house he loves all my dogs but two of mine don't like him because he doesn't have any boundaries.
This guy needs to be an only dog placement. He is perfect in public, in walks and even in busy restaurants. He's hilarious, quirky, loves walks and car rides. If you want to make him yours forever shoulder, face and neck messages then a bone or toy. He loves toys of all kinds and can entertain himself. He has no idea how big he is or about personal space and where it's apply for his nose to go. He gives kisses and smiles a lot which looks like teeth baring. He is very oral so he likes to have his mouth on your hand if he's beside you. There's not an aggressive bone in his doofus acting body. He's been through the prison training program and knows his stuff just struggles with commands when he's excited. Come meet him those that have fall in love and take him home but this next placement will be forever just you and him.

Additional adoption info

How Much is the Adoption Fee?

Adoption fees are based on a per dog basis. Our dogs are fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heart worm tested, de-wormed, and are on monthly preventatives for heart worms, fleas, and ticks. Prior to adoption, the dogs live in loving foster homes, where we emphasize socialization and training. The adoption fee helps us to recoup some of the costs involved with rescue, but does not begin to cover the actual costs involved (we spend an average of over $300 per dog). Of course, a true Boxer lover knows that these wonderful dogs are priceless!

(Adoption fees are reduced if you have adopted from RDBR before or you are adopting more than one dog).

More about this rescue

RDBR is a non profit, 501(C)3 status. RDBR provides adoption services as well as helping current boxer owners find their dogs a loving new forever home. RDBR strives to promote responsible pet ownership.
We provide several rescue services from taking in abandoned and abused boxers to rescuing them from shelter's. RDBR conducts a thorough adoption process and that continues long after a boxer has found it's new forever home. We also offer assistance to any other boxer rescue that reaches out to us. RDBR also helps current boxer owners with behavioral problems in order to help that family keep their beloved companion.
RDBR is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers with many years of experience in performing rescue work with other established groups. After careful consideration, we have made the big decision to become an independent rescue group. We believe the establishment of Red Dirt Boxer Rescue will enable us to concentrate our efforts within the state, and to better serve both boxers and owners in Oklahoma and neighboring communities.
Our volunteers include individuals who have rescue, dog training and behavior experience. Most importantly we are boxer owners who are dedicated to saving the breed that we all love unconditionally.
