My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet 1-year old Lily (formerly Nugget): Your New Best Friend!
Lily's journey to safety was nothing short of a miracle. Saved just in time from being put to sleep due to breed-specific legislation, this one-year-old pittie mix has shown nothing but love and gratitude every day since.
At around 50 pounds, Lily is the perfect size for cuddles. She adores belly rubs and will melt into your arms for affection. Her favorite pastime is playing with stuffed toys, and she’s surprisingly gentle with them—no shredding here! While balls don’t interest her, she loves to fetch her plushies.
Lily is crate trained and feels right at home in her crate, where she remains quiet and content. She’s also fully potty trained and has medium energy, meaning she’s up for some fun zoomies in the yard but equally enjoys a cozy nap afterwards.
Food and treats are the way to her heart, making her very motivated to learn and please. She’s a great walker, staying calm and well-behaved on the leash. Lily gets along well with other dogs and hasn’t shown much interest in cats.
While she’s a bit shy around men, we’re confident that with trust and patience, she’ll come out of her shell.
Could you be the loving home Lily deserves? If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly, and loyal companion, Lily is ready to fill your life with joy. Adopt Lily today and give her the forever home she’s been dreaming of!

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
