Hi all! We are looking for a true FOREVER HOME for Minky aka Sheba! She can no longer stay at the vet office (no fault of her own) and although she loves loves loves her foster mom Lori, she does NOT love her cats and has to stay in a spare room. Minky actually sleeps pretty much all day so she doesn't really mind, but it's not an ideal set up for her long-term as she would like more attention.
She is a senior kitty who we affectionately call the German Shepherd of cats, she bonds very closely with a few people and tolerates everyone else so she needs a special person or couple to take the time to bond with her. If she does not trust you and you invade her space, prepare for some grumbling or a smack (she has little to no teeth, so no biting). When she does trust you, you can totally carry her around and snuggle with her etc (she's afraid of thunderstorms so she'd love a cuddle buddy for these summer storms coming up!). Not trying to scare off adopters, just trying to be honest!
She is honestly a sweet cat who has just had a rough start in life! She was living on the streets of Newark for years so naturally she is a little rough around the edges visually and personality-wise but crack that outer shell and she's your new little ride or die bestie. She has super soft fur and her coloring is called black smoke tabby - a coat type you often only see in purebred cats.
