Mama Ginger has weaned her pups and is ready to find a home of her own! Ginger is initially a bit timid but has made a lot of progress in a short time. She walks well on a leash but can be startled with noise. She is never aggressive but does stop and stare at people or dogs with which she is unfamiliar. Ginger loves other dogs… she loves to play and meet new friends! Ginger is good with cats and kids as well, but would probably do best with older or more relaxed children. Ginger is not great in a car…. She can tolerate rides but has anxiety. The foster is working on kennel training but she does well being left outside of kennel. Ginger has only had a few accidents since recently joining her foster home. This pretty lady is sweet with her humans… kisses, cuddles, and second shadow. Ginger is estimated to be 2 years old and weighs about 40 lbs. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Forever Home Dog Rescue is dedicated to rescuing homeless and abandoned animals primarily from high-kill shelters.
In working with committed volunteers, temporary care homes and local veterinarians, we are able to rescue dogs, provide them with loving temporary care, and find them well-matched, carefully screened forever homes. All our rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and have all necessary veterinary care.
We were formed in January 2014 and are a non-profit organization in central Iowa. We are pending our official 501c3 status. We receive no government funding and rely completely on donations.
