Cordova was brought into our care at the beginning of January 2024 after being dumped at our facility's front gate. She arrived very malnourished and sick with a upper respiratory infection. She spent the rest of January on medication to clear her illness and got a lot of food to get some weight on her! At the beginning of February, she was cleared for adoption and started the search for her forever home! Cordova is a VERY shy girl and takes a while to adjust to new people and environments. She will need someone who is understanding of a slower introduction process as to not stress her out by rushing her into a new situation. Once she gets comfortable, she is a very sweet girl who LOVES head scratches and the best part about her is she frequently does her little "derp face" and sticks her tongue out and looks the cutest doing it! She hasn't opened up too much to staff just yet but we are still trying to work on her social skills as we are not sure if she had ever had previous experience with people. *Every animal adopted from Valley Animal Center will have a microchip ID. However, it is the adopter's responsibility to register the microchip ID as soon as possible. Otherwise, if the pet gets lost, the microchip ID will not have the adopter's contact information.
Our adoption centers are open 7 days a week from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Valley Animal Center houses thousands of dogs and cats annually until they are placed in loving homes. Majority of our shelter animals are rescued from local animal control agencies who have no more space for their animals. Even animals who have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured are cared for and nurtured until a loving home is ready to adopt them.
We are easily accessible to the residents of the entire six-county region it serves. Even individuals from out of the area and out of state have come to Valley Animal Center to adopt animals from us and utilize our clinic services.

With our low-cost clinic, a membership-based dog park, and humane education resources found on our website, we want to ensure our community has easy access to resources that will help them along in their pet ownership journey.
