My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Branwen! Branwen's journey began when she arrived at the shelter with a leg injury that required amputation. However, this brave feline has adapted remarkably well to life with three legs, proving that she is a true survivor. Despite her physical differences, Branwen is a playful and energetic cat who loves to engage in playtime with her favorite wand toys. She is always eager to greet her human friends with purrs and affectionate head bumps, making her an excellent companion for those seeking a loving and loyal feline friend. Branwen's affectionate nature extends beyond her playful side. She adores sitting on laps and receiving cuddles from her human companions. Her gentle purrs and loving gaze will melt your heart and make you feel cherished. However, Branwen does have some specific needs and preferences. Due to her three-legged status and slower movement, she would thrive best in a home without other pets or young children since she can sometimes get overwhelmed in busy environments. If you are looking for a loyal and devoted feline friend who appreciates a quiet, peaceful home, Branwen may be the perfect match for you!

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Harford County, Inc., located in Fallston, Maryland, is a non-profit, open-admission animal support organization dedicated to providing shelter and care to the homeless, abandoned and abused animals of Harford County. We provide a safe and healthy temporary shelter and seek loving, permanent homes to ensure the long-term welfare of the animals we serve. Through education and advocacy, we promote the humane treatment of companion animals and work toward reducing, and ultimately eliminating, pet overpopulation in the county through low-cost spay and neuter programs.

We have welcomed more than 300,000 animals since 1946 and provide service to the community in conjunction with animal control to safeguard public health and safety. We strive to promote the special bond between humans and their companion pets in securing forever homes for our animals.

The Humane Society of Harford County serves nearly 4,000 animals each year. The animals include dogs, cats, ponies, birds, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, bearded dragons, lizards, snakes, spiders, iguanas, turtles, ducks, turkeys, chickens, goats and pigs, to name a few. The majority of the animals we receive are cats (and kittens) and dogs (and puppies).
