Meet Electric Slide! This black and white kitten is affectionate, loves belly rubs and is full of purrs. An open book, her big eyes and personality always let you know what she's thinking. She's always ready to explore despite getting around differently than other kitties. She can't use her hind legs due to a congenital issue with her spine, but she pulls herself around with her front legs and is surprisingly speedy! Her back-end paralysis left her incontinent so she needs to be expressed (squeezed) a few times a day. The process is super-easy and only takes about 5-10 minutes per day, and we're happy to show you how!

Electric Slide would likely do well with other cats and dogs with a slow introduction, and children old enough to give her a little time to warm up. If you're looking for an adorable little kitty, Electric Slide could be the one for you!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.

Step one:
Browse our available animals online. Our website has more details on every animal, including any known history with dogs, cats, and kids, as well as individual adoption fees. Visit https://www.austinpetsalive.org/adopt

Step two:
Using the provided contact form here or on the APA! website, you can send an inquiry on the animal(s) you are interested in.

Step three:
Our adoption team will connect you to the foster home or someone at the shelter location where the animal is currently living to learn more about the animal and potentially set up a visit!

Step four:
After meeting the animal you would like to adopt, instructions for completing the adoption paperwork, scheduling an appointment, and picking up your new family member will be shared with you!
