My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Humboldt!

Humboldt came to us from the Inland Valley Humane Society S.P.C.A. on May 22. He is 8 years old and weighs 12 lbs.

A few days after he arrived at Frosted Faces Foundation, Humboldt left on a two-week Frosted Fling. He received lots of love and attention while we learned what he is like in a home environment!

His Fling Mom reports:

"Humboldt is truly the absolute sweetest, quietest boy and would do extremely well in a low-key environment where he can nap and go for the occasional walk! If you're looking for a best friend that loves to nap, curl up close to you, and go for the occasional walk, look no further!

We walked to a coffee shop every morning and both men and women would come up to say hi. Humboldt always let them pet him and the couple times someone wanted to hold him, he had no problem! We also went to a few wineries and had some outdoor outings and he always acted the same way. Unbothered by anyone! He doesn't seek out being held, but he's fine when anyone wants to hold him.

Humboldt didn't seem interested nor bothered by other dogs. He interacted with ~10 big and small dogs throughout each day. He would typically just stand there to look at them and the other dog would come up to say hi. He would wait for me to start walking to begin moving. But he didn't seem afraid, just not interested in playing.

Humboldt does not appear to have any separation anxiety! When I would leave he'd do a couple laps around the room and then instantly go to sleep. I left him for about 6 hours once and he slept the entire time. I never heard him bark or yelp and he never scratched anything (aside from his blankets). He is not territorial over food and even likes to eat out of your hand on occasion.

Humboldt is a leisurely walker. He typically likes for me to walk in front of him, but on occasion he'd take the lead. He was never in a hurry to go anywhere and was never remotely bothered by humans petting him or other dogs saying hi. After about 4-6 blocks he'd need a little break or would need to be picked up. Short walks are this guy's preference!

After Humboldt ate, he loved to roll around on the carpet, couch, or bathroom mat for about 5-10 minutes. That was really the extent of getting out his energy. He would also take his time getting his blankets for napping juuuuuust right He's a very chill, mellow guy that prefers to nap over play!

Humboldt was SO good about going to the bathroom after the first couple nights. I did try to take him out every 4 or so hours during the day to go for a walk. As we moved into week 2, he would sleep for 8-9 hours at night without getting up! He's a pretty "regular guy and typically did his business in the morning.

I also noticed he doesn't mark his territory like many male dogs. He finds a great spot, does his business, and never lifts his leg again on the walk! He also never marked in the house.

Humboldt is amazing in the car and loves to stare at himself in the mirror. It's so cute!!

Humboldt is more than ready to take on the BFF role for his human! Please consider giving this incredibly lovable gentleman a chance."

Humboldt is back on-site and ready to meet his forever family! Might that be you?
