My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nash is SMART. He loves to learn and is eager to please (especially if you have a treat).

He learned the sit command quickly and started to work on lay down. If you put your finger to the floor he`ll eventually get there.

He was easy to house train. But may require some freshening up when he does finally find his forever family or a new foster.

He walks AMAZING on-leash. He very rarely pulls and even then it`s not hard to redirect him.

He`s soft mouthed and takes treats easily.

He LOVES attention. And he enjoys sleeping on his back

He`s a pretty quiet boy. We only heard him fully bark once while he was here (about 3 weeks).

It appears that he may do well with other dogs when allowed a slow introduction.

Now, the hard part...Nash has separation anxiety and he struggles in a crate. He also doesn`t know his size or some boundaries.

In the crate, he would whine and pant. I think if he were in a crate more centrally located (something we weren`t able to provide) might help with some of his discomfort.

Nash can be redirected but if you are crouched down he may jump on your back. He also used his nose to push our cat around and would chase him. He will stop when told no but I`m not sure a house with a cat is a good idea. Our cat is super laid back and usually doesn`t react the way he did.

He also needs consistent training on appropriate play. He will jump towards the face when excited and he can be mouthy. He`s soft mouthed - which is great - but he still needs to learn he can`t put your arm in his mouth.

Nash did great with my teenager. He also met smaller children while we had him and he did well with those intros as well.

Finally, we have a 40` gate in our home and he WAS able to get over it (jumped). Something that is a consideration for a future family.
Nash does NOT like being rained on or getting a bath with a shower hand held. He does appear to be ok with standing water (like a pond or lake).

Nash will entertain himself by tossing his toys and he also enjoys when they`re thrown so he can chase them.

If his future home wants to, he`ll be easy to train for teeth brushing as we worked on this some as well. He did well with a regular toothbrush.
