My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tank! He's a 2 year old lab mix, with playful energy and a gentle soul. The name "Tank is a bit deceiving, as he weighs in at less than 50 lbs. He's crate and house trained, loves car rides, playing with other dogs, and snuggling on the couch or napping in his crate. He's a little too interested in cats so will do best in a home without any. Tank gets excited to greet everyone he comes across and is working on not jumping up to meet people, so small kiddos may find him to be a bit much. He pulls a bit on the leash at first, but settles in to a nice walk once he gets some of his energy out. Tank will make a wonderful addition to an active yet laid back household. He's sure to give you endless kisses and unconditional love!

Go meet their pets

Northern Lakes Rescue is foster based so all dogs are being fostered by amazing volunteers across the state of MN. Because of this, we require all meet and greets to be scheduled after an application is submitted.

Our focus after you apply is to get you scheduled to meet the dog within 3 to 7 days.

More about this rescue

Our Vision is to be a voice for those who are voiceless. We hear them with our hearts and give them a voice. Looking into the eyes of a rescued animal will speak volumes; watching those eyes light up will have an everlasting impact on you and the rescued animals.

We aren’t a typical rescue as we don’t take in dogs and put them in kennels until they’re adopted. All dogs we rescue are placed in loving foster homes that teach them to be the best dog they can be.

Our journey doesn’t end with adoption, either. We are here for you to support you in integrating your new member into your home, cheer new triumphs, and help with struggles.
