My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I’m Mylo Moons and from the moment my eyes open each day, I am at my hooman’s side being spunky, adorable and attentive.  Im 9, supposedly a Senior, but hey this is Florida and I’m just ‘moving into my next chapter” of life – seeking a place to spend my golden years, enjoying the Sunshine State !!

No health concerns to speak of, I get allergies sometimes but you will see that, my skin gets a little red sometimes; nothing a little Benadryl cant manage.   No dietary restrictions either; my foster hooman feeds me PetFresh and I enjoy that a lot!! I’m up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative & microchipped.

I come with a slow feeder & water bowl set up, a nice harness and leash combo and some “friends” – my duckie and a few choice balls.    Do you like to play ball?  Because THAT is like MY favorite thing!!  I get so excited whenever you ask me to play friend or ball with you…I really like seeing my hooman smile at me….Ill show you my happy boy dance !!

The Basics

Age:  9yrs old

Weight: 18lbs

Spayed/Neutered: Yes

Microchipped: Yes

Vaccines Up-to-Date: Yes

On Heartworm Prevention: Yes

On Flea/Tick Prevention: Yes

House-Trained: Yes

– but if I am left in a room where I know things are happening and Im missing out, I MAY leave a little spite tinkle.   But otherwise I will wake you up if I have to go at night even.

Crate-Trained: Has been kept behind a gate and separated off in a room with no issues.

Leash Skills: Walks well on a leash & harness

Mylo gets very excited when he sees his harness come out.

Medical: No concerns – senior blood panel was clear – fecal clear & teeth in good condition

Likes/Dislikes

Toys: His favorite is playing w toys.  If you give him a basket he will pick you out a new friend to play with that day. – Mylo really enjoys playing fetch.

Other Animals:  A slow and proper introduction allowed him to be a very social boy at his foster home – with both a female and male boston terrier.

People/Kids:  Adults and teens should be fine.   He was not immediately OK with a young child approaching him.  Having recently been around numerous people, kids and dogs in a vet's office setting, he is likely adaptable with any situation, given the change to have a proper introduction and interaction.

Car Rides: Does well and enjoys them

Separation:  At first he will whine and maybe even bark but given a snack and his bed will settle in

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption fee is generally based on the dog's age and provides for neutering or spaying, all required shots, heartworm testing (we endorse "the new moxie-doxy" treatment for heart worms).

It is our expectation & a requirement that heartworm preventative be continued as well as any required vet visits after the pet is adopted.

If for some reason a match isn't made the first time around and you are approved, we will keep your application on file for the next opportunity to arise. Our primary goal is to place a dog in the most suitable environment, based on the animal's individual needs and its temperament. The commitment is lifelong and the Boston's interests are always foremost.

More about this rescue

All breeds have their own particular needs and rescued pets often have special requirements as well, very often in want of medical care, often lacking nourishment and kindness, and often expensive to rehabilitate.

Because we have had Boston Terriers for many years, we are very familiar with their habits, peculiarities and their special needs.

We operate across the southeast under the auspices of the Boston Terrier Rescue Network. We share information and resources in all of the USA with affiliated Boston Rescues.
