Roxy came to us here at Lollypop Farm after her original family had to rehome her with a friend, who then found themselves unable to care for her as she deserved and asked us to find her a new - and hopefully forever - home. Despite all that moving around, Roxy is a social girl who enjoys treats and playing - fetch is her favorite game - and would love to find a new family to cherish her.
Speaking of family, we think any children in her new home should be at least six years old. We'd like to introduce her to the whole family here at the shelter to make sure everyone starts off on the same page. She has a good history of socializing with other dogs, so if you have a dog (or dogs) at home, we'd like to introduce them here, too. That way we can make sure everyone's energy levels and play styles are a good match. She's less sure how she feels about cats, so if you have feline family members, ask your counselor for tips on low-stress at-home intros.
Roxy walks well on a leash, and she already knows how to sit and come when asked. Training - positive reinforcement, of course - is a great way to bond with a new dog, so you can have a great time teaching her more commands and maybe even some tricks. Since she's a high-energy dog, she might be a good candidate to learn advanced skills - like agility or nosework - that will work her mind as well as her muscles.
Everyone who meets Roxy describes her as very sweet, so we're hoping you'd like to find out for yourself just how sweet she is. She and our other available dogs would love to meet you, so why not take a drive out to the shelter to see if your new family member could be waiting right here to meet you?

More about this shelter
Mission:
Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, works together with our community better the lives of animals through justice, prevention, and life-saving care.
Vision: A just and compassionate world for all animals.
Lollypop Farm is not your typical animal welfare organization. We don’t classify ourselves as merely a shelter, simply taking in and rehoming pets. Rather, we are your partner. We’ll work with you to build a just and compassionate world for all animals–to save animals from abuse and suffering, to find a resource to keep your pet, to guide you in adopting a new pet, to make the tough decision to say goodbye to your family friend or to share information on how to help animals in your daily life.
