Meet sweet, sweet Penny
Penny we are told was originally hit by a car and broke her leg. She had surgery on her leg, but it didn't heal properly. As a result of nerve damage and subsequent injuries her leg needed to be amputated. Her previous owners brought her to the vet for euthanasia instead. The vet called us and asked for help. Penny was hospitalized for a few days, had her leg amputated and moved into a foster home. She has done great with her healing but she was also found to be heartworm positive. She is now working through heartworm treatment and is doing well in her foster home with the other dogs and all the people she has met. She is ALWAYS happy and smiling. We have agreed that it is time to start looking for a furever home! Heartworm treatment would continue to be paid for by the rescue, but an adoptive or foster to adoptive home would be great to get her settled into while she continues her treatment journey. We are told she is approximately 6 years old.
