Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shafer came to us extremely afraid. We don't think someone was too nice with him. If you raise your hand he will drop down to the ground, it breaks our heart. He loves to be petted and will sit beside you quietly. He is approx. 1-2 yrs. old and 50 lbs. He is a beautiful bluetick that needs and understand person that will help him overcome his shyness. He will walk on a leash. A fenced area is a MUST for this boy. Visit him at the Rockbridge Spca or email manager@rockbridgespca.net Heartworm tested: negative

NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter.
please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. We do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer.

The Rockbridge Spca adopts out dogs, cats and other small animals. We strive to be close to a no kill shelter, although we cannot save them all we do save a lot. Medical cases are handled providing funds can be raised. We do NOT adopt out animals with a bite history.
