My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you're searching for the most devoted and loving best friend ever....Pickles is the puppy you want to have around! Pickles, at just 2 months old and 9 lbs is just naturally a lover... and when he looks at you with those gorgeous, blue, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt. Pickles' mom is 40 lbs, so we believe Pickles will be around that size full grown.

Pickles is a beautiful and sweet as can be Schnauzer / Labrador Retriever mix with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes.

Farfel's received a plea from Rescued Pets Movement in Houston to save the life of Pickles's mom and her 2 week old puppies. All were scheduled for euthanasia due to a lack of space. They described the mom and entire litter as healthy, wonderful and just about perfect in their temperaments and sweet personalities. We were thrilled to accept both mom and her 9 adorable puppies into Farfel's Rescue.

Pickles's foster mom had the following to brag about this great guy:

"Pickles is so far from salty, this little sweetheart knows how to have be silly and have fun! He is such a good boy who has a perfect balance of love and play. This outstanding young man has been athletic since the ripe age of 4 weeks. He will be an amazing outdoor companion for hiking and backyard fun, who will then snuggle up all night after a long day."

Pickles will have so much fun exploring and taking long walks and hikes along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. Hiking and socializing with others is right down this friendly and active guy's alley. Pickles is always open to new activities with a never-ending positive attitude. He's a joy to be with and is filled with nothing but pure love!

Farfel's would love to see our sweet Pickles in a home with a family (older kids preferred so there's no tail-pulling or awkward handling). Active retirees who have the time and love for a very loving and sweet puppy would be perfect as well. We'd hate to see this social guy left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement.

There's lots of tail wagging whenever sweet and gentle Pickles is around. He's such a happy and positive guy...his joy is contagious and wonderful!

Pickles loves backyard exploring! He's a curious and joyful puppy who shares his pleasure with all who are present. He's wonderful with his mom and littermates and will enjoy another dog's company in his forever home.I can say without reservation that Pickles will be an excellent companion and best friend for a dog-loving family.

Farfel's would like to see Pickles in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt Pickles out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.

Pickles has been fully vetted and vaccinated to be in line with Farfel's commitment to only adopting out healthy dogs. Current research is very clear that neutering prior to 9 - 12 months old is not recommended for the health of the dog. Farfel's is happy to cover all costs at that time for Pickles's neuter / microchip if one of our rescue vets is used.

Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet and loving puppy. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Pickles please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in many cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
