If interested in adopting call the clinic at 205-870-4500 for further details. Adoptable animals at VPAC are brought in through Homewood Animal Control them held for 10 days for an owner to claim. After that the animals are updated on vaccines and given fecal exams, and heartworm tests. The adoption fee also covers the cost of spaying/neutering services which we provide to the animal at 6 months of age or prior to their adoption.

The first step in our adoption process is coming in and visiting. After you have chosen a pet to adopt you will fill out an application for adoption. If you are renting please bring proof that you are eligible to have a pet at home. Our adoption fee is 160.00 which includes spay/neuter and current vaccinations. We do require you to take your new pet in for a check up within 7 days of adoption to establish veterinary care. We also strongly advice keeping your new pet on flea and heart-worm preventative year round, and require annuals vaccinations to prevent illness.
